About Thrive Outside

Thrive Outside offers an alternative learning provision for children and young adults whose experience of school has been challenging or for children whose own past experiences has prevented them from being able to function in a conventional classroom environment.

 

The provision has been developed by a team of professionals with a wealth of experience of working with children that have had numerous school placement breakdowns. They have cared for, and educated children with a variety of needs, such as ADHD, Autism and complex behavioural needs. 

 The Thrive Outside Team have recognised the need for a different kind of service that can form a foundation for the child’s valuable learning journey.

​Keeping the child at the centre of our work, and being lead by the needs of the individual is what makes Thrive Outside unique.  Our flexible, open minded and attuned approach to each child means that we can respond to what matters and understand what changes are meaningful to them. 

Our sessions will provide gentle structure for the children, with a step by step approach, that allows them to feel free to learn and grow at a pace that is right for them. In addition, we will implement a strong framework of boundaries to ensure that all children and adults are emotionally and physically safe in the environment.

All children are supported to take park in our therapeutic programme, Flourish. This therapeutic programme delivers age-appropriate interventions across six half-term periods throughout the academic year. Each theme addresses a core area of emotional and social development through structured weekly activities and discussions designed, age appropriately, for children attending our provision.

​The team will guide and support them through their journey at Thrive Outside, using nature, sustainability, growth, seasonality and connection as a foundation for positive change.
